Production Usage

Measure the quality of your Haystack pipelines and agents before you ship, and observe their behavior once they're running.

This section covers the tools Haystack provides for that: evaluate a pipeline or component against metrics before you promote it, trace requests as they move through components to understand latency and behavior, and log what happened for debugging. See Deployment for how to serve a pipeline as an HTTP endpoint in the first place.

Evaluation

Evaluation covers model-based and statistical metrics for scoring pipelines and components - Retrievers, Generators, and full RAG pipelines included - so you can compare changes before you ship them.

Tracing

Tracing instruments the flow of requests through your pipeline's components. Haystack supports OpenTelemetry, Langfuse, Datadog, MLflow, Weave, and Rhesis out of the box, plus a logging-based tracer and custom tracer backends.

Logging

Logging covers Haystack's structured logging setup for monitoring and debugging pipelines during development and in production.
